Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on Monday, gaining 77 points (+0.7%) to close at 11,605. The index opened slightly above its previous close and surged over 110 points in the first hour of trading before stabilizing in the green zone. Overall, 18 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 149 shares rose while 97 fell. Materials (+2.2%), Banks (+0.6%), and Utilities (+1.2%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Maaden (+4.6%), Al Rajhi Bank (+0.8%), and Saudi National Bank (+1.2%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume and value of 24% and 45%, respectively, to reach 308mn shares and SAR6.2bn in value traded.

U.S. stocks advanced as technology and semiconductor shares led gains, supported by optimism over the AI sector after AMD announced a multi-year chip supply agreement with OpenAI. Broader sentiment improved as easing yields and expectations of potential Federal Reserve rate cuts later this year underpinned risk appetite. European equities were little changed, with cautious trading following weaker-than-expected industrial data and ongoing concerns over growth momentum across the region. Energy and consumer stocks saw selective buying while broader gains remained capped. The FTSE 100 edged down 0.1%, the DAX and Euro Stoxx 600 were flat, and the CAC 40 fell 1.4%.
Asian markets were mixed, highlighted by a sharp rally in Japan as optimism over new fiscal support measures and improving corporate earnings lifted sentiment. Chinese and South Korean exchanges remained closed for holidays, while Hong Kong eased on profit-taking. The Nikkei 225 surged 4.8%, and the Hang Seng declined 0.7%.
