Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on Monday’s session, rising by 122 points (+1.0%) to close at the 11,813 level. TASI opened the session positevly by +6 points and continued to rise gradually during the session until the end. Overall, 19 out of 20 sectors closed in the green zone, while 125 shares rose and 80 fell. Banks (+1.9%), Materials (0.6%), and Telecom ‎‎(+1.0%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (+2.6%), Bank AlBilad (+5.2%), and Saudi National Bank (+1.0%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume and value by +15% and +30%, respectively, to reach 199mn shares and SAR6.0bn in value traded.

 

 

Market Wrap International:

In the U.S., investors are counting on the so-called Santa Claus rally to bring record highs and expect a strong interest in stocks, with a significant inflow of $6.4 billion in U.S. equities from BofA clients. the highest weekly net inflow since October ‎‎2022. However, markets were closed on Monday and will resume on Tuesday.

In Europe, markets remained shut on Monday, while Russia's central bank stated that they might need two to three months to ensure a steady decline in inflation before considering any interest rate cuts creating uncertainty to the investor sentiment on interest rate expectations.

In Asia, shares were higher after Wall Street capped its eighth straight winning week with a quiet finish following reports showing inflation on the way down and the economy potentially on the way up. In China, the Shanghai Composite index saw an increase of +0.1% and the Japan's benchmarks, Topix (+0.04%) and Nikkei 225 (+0.3%), showing a positive performance.
