Tadawul Review: 

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on Wednesday, gaining 39 points (+0.3%) to close at 12,212. The trading session began positively, with a rise of 14 points compared to the previous close. It then declined in the first hour but remained in positive territory before another surge, closing above 12,200 at the end of the session. In general, 11 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 116 shares rose while 114 fell. Banks ‎‎(+0.7%), Food and beverages (+1.6%), and Telecommunications (+1.0%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Saudi National Bank ‎‎(+2.8%), Saudi Awwal Bank (+4.0%), and Almarai (+2.5%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed a decrease in volume by -12% to reach 331mn while the value increased by 18% to reach SAR7.1bn value.

 

 

Market Wrap International:

Stocks climbed on Wednesday after the December consumer price index revealed an unexpected drop in core inflation, coupled with impressive earnings from major U.S. banks. The Dow Jones Industrial climbed by 1.7%, the S&P 500 advanced by 1.8%, and the NASDAQ gained by 2.5%.

On Wednesday, European markets closed on a positive note, driven by softer inflation figures from the U.S. and U.K. The CAC 40 increased by 0.7%, the DAX rose 1.5%, the Euro STOXX 600 climbed 1.3%, and the FTSE 100 gained by 1.2%.

Asian markets advanced as investors awaited significant inflation data expected to clarify the Federal Reserve’s rate outlook for the months ahead. Key indices such as the TOPIX gained 0.3%, and the Hang Seng rose by 0.3%. In contrast, the NIKKEI225 fell by -0.1%.
