Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell on Monday, falling by -33 points (-0.3%) to close at the 11,867 level. Starting with an initial uptick in the first quarter-hour, the index faced persistent selling pressure through the day, ending with a -0.28% decline. Overall, 16 out of 21 sectors closed in the red zone, while 160 shares fell and 65 rose. Banks (-0.3%), Insurance (-1.1%), and Food and beverages (-0.9%) sectors contributed the most to the index fall. Stockwise, Alinma Bank (-1.7%), Al Rajhi Bank (-0.2%), and Saudi National Bank (-0.6%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume and value of 110% and 31%, respectively, to reach 539mn shares and SAR5.4bn in value traded.

 

 

 

Market Wrap International: 

On Monday, the S&P 500 inched up 0.1% in anticipation of the Federal Reserve's key policy meeting, where a rate cut is expected for the first time since 2020. Concurrently, the Dow Jones Industrial Average set a new all-time high, climbing 0.6%, while the Nasdaq Composite declined -0.5%.

In Europe, stocks edged lower as investors prepared for interest rate announcements from the U.S. Federal Reserve and the Bank of England later in the week. The CAC 40 slipped -0.2%, the DAX was down -0.4%, while the FTSE 100 rose 0.1%.

 

Asian stock markets saw limited activity, with major indices like the Nikkei 225 and KOSPI closed. Meanwhile, the Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong rose 0.3%, following a generally positive performance from global markets on Friday.
