Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose for the fifth consecutive session on Monday, breaking the 12,000 barrier and gaining ‎‎42 points (+0.3%) to close at 12,023. The index opened on a positive note, rising by 8 points from the previous close, and then continued to rise gradually, closing at the session's highest point. Overall, 18 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 142 shares rose while 81 fell. Banks (+0.4%), Materials (+0.3%), and Media (+2.1%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (+1.2%), ACWA Power (+0.6%), and Aramco (+0.2%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume and value of 39% and 35%, respectively, to reach ‎‎346mn shares and SAR8.0bn in value traded.

Investors are getting ready for a data-packed week, closely watching for insights from U.S. Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell's speech at Jackson Hole regarding potential interest rate cuts. The CAC 40 rose by 0.7%, the FTSE 100 gained 0.5%, and the DAX advanced by 0.5%.

 

Asian stock markets were varied on Monday as investors weighed the upcoming Federal Reserve meeting. Asian markets experienced mixed performances, with key indices such as the Hang Seng climbing by 0.8%, the NIKKEI 225 decreasing by -1.8%, and the KOSPI down by -0.8%.
