Market Wrap International:

U.S. equities advanced as upbeat AI-chip earnings helped revive demand for mega-cap technology, with Nvidia’s stronger outlook easing recent valuation concerns across semiconductors and software. Higher Treasury yields and cautious Federal Reserve commentary kept rate-cut expectations restrained ahead of upcoming labor data, tempering broader risk appetite even as growth shares outperformed. The S&P 500 rose 0.4%, the Dow added 0.1%, and the Nasdaq gained 0.6%.

European markets ended modestly lower as renewed risk aversion around global tech valuations and ongoing structural headwinds in regional growth and competitiveness kept sentiment cautious. Selling pressure persisted across key benchmarks as investors weighed the lack of near-term catalysts and remained sensitive to broader macro uncertainty. The FTSE 100 fell -0.5%, the DAX slipped -0.1%, the CAC eased -0.2%, and the Euro Stoxx 600 dipped -0.03%.

Asian equities were softer as lingering concerns over China’s demand trajectory and subdued investor flows outweighed the positive spillover from stronger U.S. tech results. Early support for AI-linked names in Japan and Korea faded as weak industrial indicators and ongoing currency volatility constrained broader sentiment. The SHCOMP inched up 0.2%, the Kospi fell -0.6%, the Nikkei 225 declined -0.3%, and the Hang Seng slipped -0.4%.
