Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (-1.7%), Aramco (-1.3%), and Saudi National Bank (-1.8%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed a decline in volume and value of -12% and -25%, respectively, to reach 504mn shares and SAR6.2bn in value traded.
As a weekly average, U.S. indices saw gains, with the S&P 500 rising 1.25%, the Dow Jones up 0.92%, and the NASDAQ leading at 1.90%. This week, the release of Initial Jobless Claims on Thursday, October 3rd, will provide key insights into the health of the US labor market.
As a weekly average, European indices showed mixed results. The FTSE 100 rose slightly by 0.04%, while the DAX gained 1.79% and the CAC led with a 1.90% increase. The EURO STOXX 600 also saw a solid rise of 1.01%, reflecting overall positive sentiment. On Tuesday, October 1st, Europe will release the Year-over-Year Consumer Price Index (CPI) for September.
As a weekly average, Asian indices posted strong gains, led by the Hang Seng at 8.90% and the SHCOMP at 7.34%. The Nikkei 225 rose by 4.48%, while the TOPIX increased by 3.55% and the KOSPI gained 1.95%.
