Market Wrap International:
Major markets finished lower globally as renewed U.S. tariff threats and elevated geopolitical tensions weighed on investor sentiment across regions. U.S. equities ended the last session of the week with modest declines ahead of a long weekend as earnings season ramped up and risk sentiment softened, with major indexes slipping amid caution over potential policy shifts and trade tensions. In Europe, equities also ended weaker on growing concerns that escalating tariff rhetoric could dampen economic growth and cross-border trade, though some benchmarks had previously sat near record highs earlier in the month. Asian markets were broadly softer in the most recent session, with major Asian benchmarks under pressure as risk appetite waned on global trade policy uncertainty and safe-haven flows supported precious metals.
