Tadawul Review:

The Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell on Wednesday, falling slightly by -4 points (-0.04%) to close at the 12,101 level. TASI started the session negatively, opening with a fall of -15 points, but then displayed fluctuations throughout the session until the end. Overall, 12 out of 21 sectors closed in the red zone, while 110 shares fell and 109 rose. Food and beverages (-0.8%), Energy (-0.4%), and Materials (-0.2%) sectors contributed the most to the index fall. Stockwise, Aramco (-0.4%), Alinma Bank (-0.6%), and Riyad Bank (-0.7%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed a decline in volume and value of -12% and -12%, respectively, to reach 260mn shares and SAR6.0bn in value traded.

 

 

 

Market Wrap International: 

The US markets faced a decline on Wednesday following a series of disappointing earnings reports from key companies, which dampened investor sentiment and contributed to selling pressure across major indices. The S&P 500 dipped by -2.3%, the Nasdaq Composite fell -3.6%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased by -1.2%.

European markets were lower on Wednesday as earnings season ramped up, with Deutsche Bank, UniCredit, BNP Paribas, and Banco Santander among the European banks reporting earnings, alongside Easyjet, Iberdrola, and Orange. The CAC 40 declined by -1.1%, the DAX fell by -0.9%, and the Euro STOXX 600 showcased a -0.6% decline.

 

Asian stock markets declined on Wednesday as investors processed business data from Japan and Australia. This followed a stable performance in U.S. stocks amid the ongoing earnings season for major corporations. Asian markets experienced declines, with key indices like Hang Seng (-0.9%), NIKKEI 225 (-1.1%), and KOSPI (-0.6%) all showing negative movements.
