Tadawul Review:

The Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) declined on Monday, dropping 77 points (-0.7%) to close at 11,788. The session began with little movement, but the index quickly experienced significant losses within the first 15 minutes. It then gradually rebounded by midday before closing in the red. Overall, 15 out of 21 sectors ended the day in negative territory, with 158 stocks falling and 69 rising. Utilities (-3.6%), Materials (-0.7%), and Food and beverages (-1.1%) sectors contributed the most to the index fall. Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (-1.4%), ACWA Power (-2.5%), and Maaden (-2.8%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume and value of 7% and 191%, respectively, to reach 638mn shares and SAR12.2bn in value traded.

 

 

Market Wrap International: 

Wall Street showed signs of relief on Monday, helping U.S. stock index futures rise, following President-elect Donald Trump's nomination of notable investor Scott Bessent as Treasury Secretary. The Dow Jones advanced by 1%, while both the NASDAQ and S&P 500 saw gains of 0.3%.

European stocks displayed positive performance on Monday as global market sentiment improved. The FTSE 100 and DAX both saw gains of 0.4%, while the Euro STOXX 600 increased by 0.1% and the CAC 40 inched up by 0.03%.

Following a record close on Wall Street, Asian markets rallied on Monday, as investors welcomed Donald Trump's appointment of a new Treasury Secretary. The NIKKEI 225 and KOSPI both rose by 1.3%, while the SHCOMP and Hang Seng experienced slight declines of -0.1% and -0.4%, respectively.
