Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose slightly on Tuesday, up by 9 points (+0.1%) to close at 12,062 levels. The trading session began positively, with a 16-point increase at the opening, but then displayed fluctuations throughout the day before closing. In general, 5 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 52 shares rose while 178 fell. Banks (+0.5%), Materials (+0.6%), and Utilities (+0.6%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (+1.4%), Maaden (+3.1%), and ACWA Power (+0.8%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume and value of 119% and 35%, respectively, to reach ‎‎1.3bn shares and SAR7.3bn in value traded.

 

 

Market Wrap International: 

Tuesday brought a rise in most global stock markets, driven by investor anticipation of upcoming US economic figures and earnings from major tech giants this week. The S&P 500 inched up by 0.2%, the Nasdaq Composite surged by 0.8%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped by 0.4%.

In Europe, markets experienced declines as investors analyzed the latest earnings reports and geared up for three days of significant tech earnings from Wall Street, while the dollar remained close to a three-month high in anticipation of important labor market data. Major indices experienced declines, with the FTSE 100 dropping by -0.8%, the DAX falling by -0.3%, and the CAC 40 decreasing by -0.6%.

Asian markets surged on Tuesday as investors awaited the release of US economic data and earnings from key tech companies, following on the momentum from U.S. stocks, which rose broadly due to Big Tech gains despite a decrease in the oil and gas sectors. Asian markets displayed a mixed performance today, with the Hang Seng Index rising by 0.5%, the NIKKEI 225 advancing by 0.8%, and the KOSPI edging up by 0.2%.
