Market Wrap International:
U.S. equities ended with a cautious tone as investors weighed the impact of higher oil prices and ongoing Middle East tensions on inflation expectations and the Federal Reserve’s policy path, while elevated Treasury yields continued to limit upside in rate-sensitive sectors; energy stocks provided relative support, while technology shares were more mixed. This softer global backdrop carried into Europe, where sentiment remained pressured by energy market developments and broader risk aversion, with cyclical sectors such as banks and industrials underperforming while defensives offered some stability. Across Asia, trading reflected a more mixed but relatively resilient tone, as investors balanced global cues against currency movements and export demand signals, with selective support from technology and export-oriented sectors helping to offset broader caution across major markets.
