Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on Monday, gaining 25 points (+0.2%) to close at the 10,850 level. TASI opened 21 points higher than the previous closing level and experienced fluctuations throughout the session. In general, 13 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 116 shares rose while ‎‎120 fell. Banks (+0.3%), Energy (+0.7%), and Materials ‎‎(+0.3%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (+1.7%), Aramco (+0.7%), and Bank AlBilad (+2.4%) were the major contributors. Trading activity saw a 15% increase in volume, with 174 million shares traded, while the value of trades decreased by -5% to SAR 4.0 billion.

 

Market Wrap International:

U.S. stocks kicked off June on a positive note, rising Monday as investors brushed off growing global trade tensions with China and the European Union. The gains were led by Energy, up 1.15%, followed by Information Technology and Communication Services, which rose 0.89% and 0.61%, respectively. The Nasdaq rose by 0.7%, the S&P 500 gained by 0.4%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced by 0.1%.

European markets traded lower on Monday, with most major indexes in the red as investors reacted to renewed tensions between the U.S. and China. Sentiment took a hit after China accused the U.S. of seriously breaching the terms of their recent trade agreement. The DAX fell by 0.3%, the Euro STOXX 600 dropped by 0.1%, and the CAC 40 declined by 0.2%.

Major Asian markets fell after President Trump announced plans to double tariffs on steel imports to 50%, sparking fresh concerns over rising trade protectionism. The move triggered a wave of caution across the region, with most indices closing lower. The Nikkei 225 fell by 1.3%, the Hang Seng declined by 0.6%, while the KOSPI rose by 0.05%.
