Tadawul Review:

The Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on Monday, ‎gaining 117 points (1.1%) to close at 11,194. The index ‎opened 230 points lower than the previous day's closing ‎level and continued its downward trend until midday. ‎However, it began to recover and gain momentum until ‎the market closed. Overall, 18 out of 21 sectors ended in ‎the green, with 150 stocks rising and 91 falling. The ‎Utilities (5.2%), Materials (1.7%), and ‎Telecommunications (2%) sectors were the biggest ‎contributors to the index's rise. On the stock front, ‎ACWA Power (6.8%), Aramco (1.3%), and Sulaiman Al ‎Habib (4.8%) were the top performers. Trading activity ‎saw an increase, with the volume of shares rising by 31% ‎and the value traded increasing by 25%, reaching 588 ‎million shares and SAR 10.5 billion.‎

U.S. stocks fluctuated sharply on Monday as conflicting headlines, including fresh tariff threats from President Trump, kept markets on edge. The uncertainty dragged down several sectors, with Real Estate (-2.40%), Materials (-1.65%), and Utilities (-1.53%) posting the steepest losses in the S&P 500. The S&P 500 dropped by -0.2%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined by -0.9%, while the Nasdaq rose by 0.1%

European stocks dropped sharply on Monday in a turbulent session, with the Euro STOXX 600 hitting its lowest level since January 2024, as concerns mounted over President Trump’s unrelenting trade war stance and its potential impact on global growth. The CAC 40 dropped by -4.8%, the Euro STOXX 600 lost -4.5%, the FTSE 100 fell by -4.4%, and the DAX declined by -4.1%.

Asian equity markets faced steep losses on Monday as mounting fears over U.S. tariffs raised concerns of significant economic fallout across the region. Japan bore the brunt of the sell-off, with the Nikkei plunging nearly 9% early in the session, underscoring investor anxiety over a potential tariff-driven global recession. The Nikkei 225 declined -7.8%, the Hang Seng dropped by -13.22%, the KOSPI index ended lower by -5.6%, and SHCOMP also decreased by -7.34%.
