Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell on Tuesday, dropping by 91 points (-0.8%) to close at 11,792. TASI started the session on a negative note, opening 11 points lower than the previous close and continued to decrease until the end of the session. Overall, 19 out of 21 sectors closed in the red zone, while 192 shares fell and 52 rose. Banks (-0.3%), Materials (-0.8%), and Energy (-1.3%) sectors contributed the most to the index fall. Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (-0.6%), Saudi National Bank (-0.9%), and Sulaiman Al Habib (-1.9%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume and value of 10% and 9%, respectively, to reach 261mn shares and SAR5.9bn in value traded.

Wall Street fell sharply on Tuesday, ending a two-day rebound as investors turned cautious ahead of the Federal Reserve’s policy meeting. Gold surged to record highs amid rising economic uncertainty. In the S&P 500, communication services dropped 2.14%, consumer discretionary declined 1.90%, and information technology slid 1.65%. The S&P 500 fell by -1.1%, the Nasdaq dropped by -1.7%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined by -0.6%.
European stocks ended higher, supported by Germany’s Bundestag approving a key fiscal package and optimism surrounding a pivotal call between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. The CAC 40 rose by 0.5%, the DAX gained 1%, the Euro STOXX 600 advanced by 0.6%, and the FTSE 100 edged up by 0.3%.
Asian markets traded mostly higher, supported by Wall Street’s gains and renewed optimism over China’s economy, while investors continued bargain hunting after recent declines. The Hang Seng rose by 2.5%, the SHCOMP increased by 0.1%, the Nikkei 225 advanced 1.2%, and the KOSPI gained by 0.1%.
