Tadawul Review:  

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell on Sunday, dropping by -87 points (-0.8%) to close at 10,833. The index opened 30 points lower than its previous close and then gradually declined until the middle of the session. After that, the index began to reduce its losses but still closed in the red. Overall, 17 out of 21 sectors closed in the red zone, while 187 shares fell and 62 rose. Materials (-1.1%), Real Estate (-2.4%), and Banks (-0.2%) sectors contributed the most to the index fall. Stockwise, Aramco (-1.2%), ACWA Power (-3.0%), and Jabal Omar (-5.4%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed a decrease in volume and value of -35% and -23%, respectively, to reach 273mn shares and SAR3.3bn in value traded.

Markets face a busy week with key data and central bank decisions in focus. On Tuesday, August 5, the S&P Global Services PMI will be released. The Bank of England’s rate decision follows on Thursday, August 7. On Friday, August 8, China’s July CPI and PPI figures will be released.
