Market Wrap International:

U.S. equities ended higher after the Federal Reserve cut interest rates by 25 basis points, which eased front-end yields and encouraged rotation into cyclicals and banks while weighing on some high-multiple growth names; Treasury yields fell and investors cheered upbeat corporate updates in energy and industrials. Technology was mixed as profit-taking followed a few large-cap earnings misses, but financials and select cyclicals led gains. The NASDAQ rose 0.3%, the S&P 500 advanced 0.7%, and the Dow Jones climbed 1.0%.

European equities ended little changed as markets followed Wall Street’s Fed-driven tone while digesting local bond-market moves and company updates; German yields rose, keeping pressure on rate-sensitive sectors even as banks outperformed in London. Industrials and defensives showed mixed performance amid cautious positioning ahead of further central-bank guidance. The FTSE 100 gained 0.1%, the DAX fell -0.1%, the CAC 40 declined ‎‎-0.4% and the EURO STOXX 600 was up 0.1%.

Asian markets are trading mixed as regional stocks reacted to weaker global tech earnings and the Fed’s cut, with technology and semiconductors under pressure while Hong Kong showed pockets of buying. Currency moves and expectations around regional central-bank policy added to selective flows, keeping export-oriented names subdued. Japan’s Nikkei 225 is down -‎‎0.1%, China’s SHCOMP fell -0.2%, South Korea’s KOSPI is down -0.2% and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is up 0.4%.
