Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on Tuesday, gaining 82 points (+0.8%) to close at 10,922. TASI started the session on a negative note, opening one point lower than the previous close. The index rose briefly before decreasing for about half an hour, then rebounded and continued to rise until the end of the session. In general, 19 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 164 shares rose while 83 fell. Materials (+1.9%), Banks (+0.3%), and Telecommunications (+1.5%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Aramco (+0.9%), Al Rajhi Bank (+0.6%), and Sabic (+3.1%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume and value of 18% and 12%, respectively, to reach 527mn shares and SAR5.4bn in value traded.

U.S. stocks fell Tuesday as weaker-than-expected services data and persistent inflation raised fresh concerns about the Fed’s next move, while new tariff remarks added to the unease. The S&P 500 closed lower by -0.5%, with Utilities (-1.05%), Information Technology (-0.91%), and Communication Services (-0.88%) dragging the index down. The NASDAQ fell by -0.7% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average saw a decline of -0.1%.
European stocks ended higher, with the Stoxx 600 up 0.1%, as solid corporate earnings helped lift markets despite lingering trade and tariff worries. The DAX increased by 0.4% and the FTSE 100 saw an increase of 0.2%, while the CAC 40 slipped by -0.1%.
Asia-Pacific markets opened August on a stronger footing, with most indexes edging higher as softer U.S. jobs data boosted hopes for a Fed rate cut, helping offset worries over fresh U.S. tariffs. The KOSPI gained by 1.6%, the SHCOMP advanced by 1%, the Hang Seng experienced a gain of 0.7%, and the NIKKEI 225 posted an increase of 0.6%.
