Tadawul Review:

The Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) edged up on Tuesday, gaining 19 points (0.2%) to close at 11,617. The index opened 21 points above the previous close and maintained a positive trajectory throughout the session. Although it briefly dipped by two points near the end, it quickly rebounded during the closing auction. It ended on a positive note, with 14 out of 21 sectors closing in the green. A total of 105 stocks advanced, while 136 declined. The Telecommunications (+2.5%), Banks ‎‎(+0.2%), and Media (+4.7%) sectors were the key drivers of the index’s performance. Among individual stocks, Saudi Telecom (+2.3%), Al Rajhi Bank (+0.5%), and Etihad Etisalat (+3.2%) were major contributors to the gains. Trading activity slowed, with share volume falling by -15% and trading value decreasing by -1.8%, reaching ‎‎341 million shares and SAR 6.3 billion.

Market Wrap International:

U.S. equities slipped modestly on Tuesday as investors assessed fresh Q1 earnings results amid easing market volatility. The Consumer Discretionary (-0.80%), Health Care (-0.69%), and Consumer Staples (-0.67%) sectors registered the largest declines. Dow Jones fell by -0.4%, Nasdaq dropped by -0.05%, and S&P 500 declined by -0.2%.

European markets edged higher as investors adjusted to shifting U.S. tariff strategies, including a possible reprieve for the auto sector. The CAC 40 rose by 0.9%, the Euro STOXX 600 gained by 1.6%, the FTSE 100 advanced by 1.4%, and the DAX climbed by 1.4%.

Asian markets climbed higher, buoyed by gains in the auto and technology sectors after U.S. President Donald Trump hinted at possible exemptions on tariffs targeting autos and consumer electronics. The Nikkei 225 rose by 0.8%, the TOPIX gained 1%, the Hang Seng advanced by 0.23%, the SHCOMP climbed by 0.15%, and the KOSPI closed higher by 0.9%.
