Market Wrap International:
U.S. equities ended lower at the latest close as a surge in oil prices and escalating Middle East tensions fueled concerns about renewed inflation pressures and the potential impact on the global economic outlook, prompting broad selling across major sectors and reinforcing a risk-off tone on Wall Street. European equities ended lower as the same energy-driven inflation concerns and geopolitical uncertainty weighed on investor sentiment, with cyclical sectors such as industrials, financials, and consumer stocks facing pressure as investors reduced exposure to risk assets. Asian markets also closed lower in the most recent session as the cautious global tone carried into regional trading, with investors reacting to rising energy prices, geopolitical uncertainty, and concerns that prolonged disruptions to energy supply could weigh on growth across export-oriented economies.
