Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell on Wednesday, dropping by -75 points (-0.6%) to close at 11,672. The trading session began positively, with a 3-point increase compared to the previous close, but gradually declined until the middle of the session, settling in the red zone. Overall, 17 out of 21 sectors closed in the red zone, while 201 shares fell and 47 rose. Banks (-0.7%), Real Estate (-1.7%), and Energy (-1.1%) sectors contributed the most to the index fall. Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (-1.3%), Aramco (-1.2%), and Dar Al Arkan (-3.1%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed a decrease in volume of -11% to reach 298mn while the value increased by 1.0% to reach SAR6.9bn value traded.

U.S. stocks closed modestly higher on Wednesday in choppy trading, as the S&P 500 eked out gains despite data showing the economy contracted in Q1 for the first time in three years, fueling recession concerns. Early losses were pared as investors processed a wave of economic reports and rebalanced positions at month-end. Among sectors, Health Care rose 0.89%, Industrials gained 0.80%, and Consumer Staples added 0.71%. The S&P 500 rose by 0.1%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced by 0.3%, while the NASDAQ fell by -0.1%.

European stocks ended higher Wednesday after a volatile session, recovering from early losses as investors digested disappointing U.S. data and global earnings. Despite a turbulent month shaped by President Trump’s unpredictable tariff moves, sentiment held firm into the close. The STOXX 600 edged up 0.5%, DAX advanced 0.3%, France’s CAC 40 posted gains of 0.5%, and FTSE 100 climbed 0.4%.

Asian markets traded mixed Wednesday as investors balanced upbeat corporate earnings out of the U.S. with lingering concerns about global trade tensions and slowing economic momentum. Nikkei 225 gained 0.6%, and Hang Seng rose 0.5%, while KOSPI fell by -0.3%, and SHCOMP fell -0.2%.
