Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on Tuesday, gaining 27 points (+0.2%) to close at 12,254. The trading session began on a negative note, with a 4-point decrease at the opening, but showed fluctuations throughout the session before closing. In general, 15 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and ‎‎116 shares rose while 104 fell. Banks (+0.5%), Materials ‎‎(+0.4%), and Real Estate (+0.8%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Aramco (+0.4%), Saudi National Bank (+0.9%), and Sabic (+1.6%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed a decline in volume and value of -34% and -26%, respectively, to reach ‎‎706mn shares and SAR6.4bn in value traded.

 

 

Market Wrap International: 

On Tuesday, the first trading day of October and the fourth quarter, stock futures presented a mixed picture following a surprisingly robust performance in September. The Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped by -0.4%, the S&P 500 fell by -0.9% and the Nasdaq Composite decreased by -1.5%.

In Europe, trading ended on a negative note as investors analyzed newly released inflation statistics from the eurozone. The FTSE 100 index increased by 0.5%, The DAX fell by -0.6%, the CAC 40 slipped by -0.8%.

 

Japanese markets climbed Tuesday, recovering some of the losses suffered in the previous day's collapse, as the yen dropped against the dollar. Key Japanese indices saw gains, with the TOPIX up by 1.7%, and the NIKKEI 225 rising by 1.9%.
