Tadawul Review: 

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose for the second day on Monday, climbing by 1.6%, or (183) to 11,808.25. At the start of the session, TASI exhibited a positive opening, with an increase of 57 points and continued rising throughout the session until the end. In general, 19 out of 20 sectors closed in the green zone, while 207 shares rose and  22 fell. Banks (+1.9%), Materials‎‎ (+2.2%), and Real Estate (+3.8%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (+3.3%), Aramco ‎‎(+1.6%), and SNB (+2.2%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed An increase in volume and value by ‎‎+74% and +41%, respectively, to reach 389mn shares and SAR7.9bn in value traded.

 

 

Market Wrap International:

The U.S. stock market ended Monday on a positive note, with the S&P 500 gaining 0.1% with 4 out of 11 sectors gained, and the Nasdaq Composite rising 0.6%. Investors were particularly attentive to the European Central Bank's imminent interest rate decision and closely monitoring the unemployment rate.

In Europe, all eyes are on the European Central Bank (ECB) as investors await its interest rate decision on Thursday. The market expects a 25 basis points (bps) reduction from the current record-high levels. On Monday, the Euro Stoxx 600 in Europe rose by 0.3%, while the FTSE 100 index declined by -0.1% on the same day.

In Asian markets, the SHCOMP index declined by -0.3%, while in Japan, both of TOPIX and the NIKKEI 225 indexes edged up by 0.9% and 1.1% respectively as the sentiment was upbeat with Asia factory activity in May expanded as global demand increased, signaling a potential economic recovery in the region, particularly in China.
