Tadawul Review:

The Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) edged up on Monday, gaining 4.83 points (0.04%) to close at 11,597. The index opened 13 points higher than the previous close but experienced a notable drop and sharp fluctuations during the session, before recovering most of its losses toward the end. It closed on a positive note, with 17 out of 21 sectors ending in the green. A total of ‎‎186 stocks advanced, while only 57 declined. The Materials (1%), Real Estate (1.2%), and Media (4%) sectors were the key drivers of the index’s performance. Among individual stocks, Maaden (2.4%), Aramco ‎‎(0.2%), and Jabal Omar (2.6%) were major contributors to the gains. Trading activity picked up, with share volume rising by 44% and trading value increasing by 35%, reaching 399 million shares and SAR ‎‎6.4 billion.

 

Market Wrap International:

U.S. stocks closed higher on Monday in a volatile session, lifted by a rebound in tech shares after President Trump unexpectedly granted a temporary tariff exemption on consumer electronics. Among the top-performing S&P 500 sectors were Real Estate (2.15%), Utilities (1.75%), and Consumer Staples (1.64%). The S&P 500 rose by 0.8%, the Nasdaq advanced by 0.6%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained by 0.8%.

European markets ended higher, supported by broad-based gains as investor sentiment improved following President Trump’s tariff exemptions on smartphones and computers imported from China. The move offered a brief reprieve after weeks of trade-related volatility. The CAC 40 rose by 2.4%, the Euro STOXX 600 gained by 2.7%, the FTSE 100 advanced by 2.1%, and the DAX climbed by 2.9%.

Asian markets advanced, buoyed by improved risk sentiment after President Trump paused tariffs on select consumer electronics and expressed optimism over reaching a trade deal with China. This followed Wall Street’s positive lead and marked a turnaround from Friday’s weaker close across much of the region. The Nikkei 225 rose by 1.2%, the Hang Seng gained 2.4%, the KOSPI advanced by 1%, and the SHCOMP climbed by 0.8%.
