Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on Thursday after eight consecutive sessions of decline, gaining 37 points (+0.3%) to close at 10,656. The index opened slightly above its previous close, then experienced fluctuations during the session before closing in the green zone. In general, 12 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 123 shares rose while 117 fell. Banks (+0.9%), Utilities (+0.8%), and Health care equipment and services (+0.9%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (+1.7%), ACWA Power (+1.2%), and Maaden (+1.1%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed a decrease in volume and value of -9% and -3%, respectively, to reach 153mn shares and SAR3.2bn in value traded.

U.S. stocks ended lower on Friday as a sharply weaker jobs report fueled concerns about the economy while cementing expectations of a Federal Reserve rate cut this month. The S&P500 fell -0.3%, Dow Jones -0.5%, and Nasdaq -0.03%. While the S&P500 gained +0.3% and the Nasdaq +1.1%, while the Dow slipped -0.3%.
European equities mirrored Wall Street’s cautious tone, with exporters under pressure and investors balancing global demand risks against the prospect of lower rates. The FTSE 100 closed -0.1%, DAX -0.7%, CAC -0.3%, and the Euro STOXX 600 -0.2%.
In Asia, sentiment was far stronger, buoyed by hopes of stimulus in China and upbeat data from Japan. The SHCOMP jumped +1.2%, Kospi +0.1%, Nikkei 225 +1.0%, and Hang Seng +1.4%, marking one of the region’s strongest weekly showings in recent months.
