Tadawul Review: 

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on Thursday, gaining 19 points (+0.2%) to close at 12,434. The trading session began negatively, with a 6-point decrease compared to the previous close, followed by fluctuations until the end of the session. In general, 15 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 123 shares rose while 96 fell. Materials ‎‎(+1.1%), Real Estate (+1.5%), and Utilities (+0.8%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Maaden ‎‎(+4.1%), Saudi Fransi (+4.1%), and ACWA Power (+0.8%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed a decrease in volume and value of -8% and -2%, respectively, to reach 291mn shares and SAR6.8bn in value traded.

 

 

Market Wrap International:

U.S. stocks fell on Friday as investors grappled with the prospect of new tariffs from the Trump administration, alongside a sharp rise in consumer inflation expectations. The latest jobs report, initially a key focus, was quickly overshadowed by broader economic concerns. In the S&P 500, consumer discretionary led losses, down 2.52%. Tech, materials, and communication services also fell over 1%. The S&P 500 dropped by -0.9%, the NASDAQ declined by -1.4%, and Dow jones industrial fell by -1.0%. 

European stocks edged lower on Friday, though they secured a weekly gain as corporate results and economic data shaped market sentiment. The CAC 40 fell by -0.4%, the DAX dropped by -0.5%, the Euro STOXX 600 declined by -0.4%, and the FTSE 100 fell by -0.3%.

Despite U.S. tariffs, Chinese equities extended gains on AI optimism, while most Asian markets were mixed. India’s central bank also delivered its first rate cut in nearly five years. The Hang Seng gained by 1.2%, the SHCOMP increased by 1.0%, the NIKKEI 225 fell by -0.7%, and the KOSPI decreased by -0.6%.
