In general, 10 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 103 shares rose while 124 fell. Utilities (+2.5%), Capital goods (+1.9%), and Energy (+0.3%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, ACWA Power (+3.2%), Aramco (+0.4%), and Riyadh Cables Group (+10.0%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed a decrease in volume and value of -17% and -36%, respectively, to reach 459mn shares and SAR4.2bn in value traded.
As a weekly average, U.S. indices exhibited mixed performance. The S&P 500 fell by 0.66%, and the Dow Jones declined more sharply by 1.58%. In contrast, the NASDAQ saw a slight gain of 0.22%. An important event happening this week is the US elections scheduled for Tuesday.
As a weekly average, European indices experienced declines, with the FTSE 100 down 1.17% and the EURO STOXX 600 falling by 1.15%. The DAX and CAC also posted losses, dropping 0.57% and 0.90%, respectively. This trend reflects ongoing market challenges across the region.
