Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on Tuesday, gaining 67 points (+0.5%) to close at 12,334. The session opened slightly above its previous and continued to rise until the end of the day. In general, 10 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 105 shares rose while 128 fell. Banks (+1.5%), Telecommunications (+1.4%), and Utilities (+1.4%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Saudi National Bank (+4.3%), Al Rajhi Bank (+0.9%), and ACWA Power (+1.9%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume and value of 5% and 10%, respectively, to reach 231mn shares and SAR5.8bn in value traded.

 

 

Market Wrap International:

U.S. stocks saw modest gains on Tuesday, kicking off a holiday-shortened trading week on a positive note. The S&P 500 edged higher, continuing its recovery toward the all-time high it reached a month ago. However, investors remained cautious amid concerns about global trade, inflation, potential Federal Reserve policy changes, and anticipated actions from President Donald Trump. Among the sectors in the S&P 500, Energy led the gains with a 1.37% increase, followed by Materials at 1.23% and Utilities at 0.94%. The broader market saw slight advances, with the S&P 500 rising 0.2%, the NASDAQ gaining 0.1%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average inching up by just 0.02%.

European shares closed at a record high on Tuesday, driven by gains in banking and defense stocks as investors factored in the potential for increased domestic military spending amid ongoing peace talks to resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The CAC 40 and DAX both rose by 0.2%, while the broader Euro STOXX 600 saw a significant 3% gain. In contrast, the FTSE 100 edged down slightly by 0.01%.

Japanese stocks closed higher on Tuesday, supported by strong performances in the Shipbuilding, Rubber, and Manufacturing sectors. In the broader Asian market, the Hang Seng Index rose by 1.6%, while the Shanghai Composite (SHCOMP) declined by 0.9%. Meanwhile, the Nikkei 225 edged up by 0.2%, and the KOSPI gained 0.6%.
