Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell on Tuesday, dropping 97 points (-0.89%) to close at 10,781.62. The index opened 6 points below its previous close, but it recovered some losses before the close; however, it still ended in the red zone. Overall, 21 out of 21 sectors closed in the red zone, and 25 shares rose while 236 fell. Banks (-0.4%), Materials (-1.2%), and Utilities (-2.3%) sectors contributed the most to the index decline. Stockwise, Saudi Aramco (-0.5%), ACWA Power (-2.1%), and Maaden (-1.3%) were the major contributors to the index decline. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume and value of +30% and +10%, respectively, to reach 230mn shares and SAR 4.6bn in value traded.

 

 

Market Wrap International:

 U.S. equities ended lower as rising oil prices and higher Treasury yields reinforced inflation concerns ahead of the Federal Reserve’s policy decision, while weakness in semiconductor and technology shares added pressure to growth stocks. The 10-year Treasury yield moved above 5%, while energy was the only major sector to advance as higher crude prices supported the group. The S&P 500 fell -0.4%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined -0.6%, and the NASDAQ dropped -0.8%.

European equities ended lower as higher oil prices and rising bond yields revived inflation and interest-rate concerns, keeping pressure on risk assets. Financial and luxury stocks underperformed, while energy shares provided some support as crude prices remained elevated. The FTSE 100 fell -0.4%, the DAX declined -0.2%, the CAC 40 lost -0.3%, and the EURO STOXX 600 eased -0.3%.

Asian markets are trading lower as investors remain cautious ahead of the Federal Reserve decision, with elevated oil prices, high U.S. Treasury yields and weaker global technology sentiment weighing on risk appetite. Chinese equities are also being pressured by softer domestic consumption and continued weakness in the property sector, despite stronger industrial activity, while losses in technology and export-oriented shares are weighing on regional benchmarks. The SHCOMP is down -‎‎0.5%, the KOSPI is lower by -0.9%, the Nikkei 225 is down -‎‎0.01%, and the Hang Seng has declined -1.0%.
