Tadawul Review: 

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell on Monday, dropping by 33 points (-0.3%) to close at the 12,377 level. TASI started the session negatively, opening with a loss of 14 points. After a notable dip in the first half hour, TASI slightly recovered some of its losses but remained in negative territory, closing in the red zone. Overall, 16 out of 21 sectors closed in the red zone, while 170 shares fell and 65 rose. Utilities (-1.8%), Food and beverages (-1.1%), and Real Estate (-0.7%) sectors contributed the most to the index fall. Stockwise, ACWA Power (-2.2%), Saudi Awwal Bank (-2.5%), and Almarai (-1.5%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume and value of 15% and 29%, respectively, to reach 272mn shares and SAR6.5bn in value traded.

Wall Street experienced sharp declines on Monday, with stocks tumbling amid escalating trade war concerns following President Trump’s tariff announcement. The market initially saw heavy losses but remained under pressure throughout the session despite news of Mexico securing a one-month delay, which provided little relief to investors. The S&P 500 dropped by 0.8%, while the NASDAQ declined by 1.2%, reflecting broad market weakness.

European stocks suffered their biggest single-day drop in over a month on Monday, as President Trump’s new tariffs fueled fears of a broader trade war. Automakers and luxury goods makers led the declines, with Germany’s market hit particularly hard amid ongoing economic and political challenges. Investors grew increasingly cautious after Trump hinted at potential tariffs targeting the EU and the U.K. The CAC 40 dropped by 1.2%, the DAX fell by 1.4%, the Euro STOXX 600 declined by 0.9%, and the FTSE 100 slipped by 1%.

Asian stocks fell Monday amid rising fears of Trump’s tariff threats against key trading partners. The Hang Seng dropped by 0.04%, the NIKKEI 225 fell by 2.7%, and the KOSPI decreased by 2.5%.
