Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell on Monday, ‎dropping by 69 points (-0.6%) to close at 12,319. The ‎index opened 9 points lower than its previous close and ‎experienced fluctuations between positive and negative ‎territory, eventually closing at its lowest point of the ‎day. Overall, 19 out of 21 sectors closed in the red zone, ‎while 189 shares fell and 51 rose. Materials (-1.5%), ‎Energy (-1.8%), and Real Estate (-1.3%) sectors ‎contributed the most to the index fall. Stockwise, ‎Aramco (-1.8%), Maaden (-3.5%), and Al Rajhi Bank (-‎‎0.5%) were the major contributors. The trading activity ‎witnessed a decrease in volume by -6% to reach 255mn ‎shares, while the value increased by 18% to reach ‎SAR7.0bn in value traded.‎

 

 

Market Wrap International:

U.S. stocks mostly declined on Monday, extending last week’s losses as weakness in major tech stocks pressured the market. Investors remained cautious ahead of Nvidia’s earnings, a key test for the AI-driven rally. The S&P 500 fell 0.5%, while the NASDAQ dropped 1.2%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average, however, edged up 0.1%. Among S&P 500 sectors, Information Technology (-1.43%), Consumer Discretionary (-0.87%), and Communication Services (-0.63%) were the worst performers.

European markets closed mixed on Monday as investors assessed the results of Germany’s federal election, where Friedrich Merz’s conservative bloc secured victory with a pro-growth agenda. German stocks ended higher, with the DAX gaining 0.6%, while broader European indices showed more cautious moves. The CAC 40 dropped 0.8%, the Euro STOXX 600 edged down 0.1%, and the FTSE 100 saw a slight decline of 0.005%.

Asian markets mostly declined on Monday, tracking Wall Street’s weak finish last week amid disappointing economic data. The Hang Seng dipped 0.6%, the Shanghai Composite Index (SHCOMP) declined 0.2%, and the KOSPI decreased 0.4%. Markets in Japan were closed on Monday in observance of the Emperor’s Birthday, a national holiday celebrated on February 23rd.
