Market Wrap International:

U.S. equities ended mixed as stronger-than-expected employment data lifted risk sentiment, supporting technology and semiconductor shares to broad-based gains while large-cap industrial names remained broadly flat amid cautious positioning. Artificial intelligence and growth-oriented sectors drew renewed investor interest following upbeat earnings results from several technology companies, while selective profit-taking in cyclical shares and modest softness in some defensive names kept the broader advance in check. The S&P 500 rose 0.8%, while the NASDAQ gained 1.7%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average was flat.

European equities ended lower as trade tensions and the prospect of elevated tariffs weighed on investor sentiment, drawing broad-based selling across industrials, financial, and consumer-facing sectors. Domestic political uncertainty in the United Kingdom added to the cautious tone across regional markets, while any positive spillover from strength in U.S. technology names offered only limited support, leaving defensive shares unable to offset the wider decline. The FTSE 100 fell -0.4%, the DAX declined -1.3%, the CAC 40 dropped    -1.1%, and the EURO STOXX 600 eased -0.7%.

Asian markets ended mixed as profit-taking in recently outperforming markets and corporate earnings headwinds from export-oriented sectors weighed on Japan and Hong Kong, while South Korea edged higher on selective buying in technology and semiconductor shares. Lingering geopolitical uncertainty in the Middle East dampened the broader risk tone and weighed on investor appetite, leaving mainland China broadly flat and capping wider regional gains. The Nikkei 225 fell -0.2%, while the Hang Seng declined -0.9%, the SHCOMP was flat, and the KOSPI was little changed.
