Tadawul Review: ‎

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on Tuesday, gaining 225 points (+2.30%) to close at 9,986.45. The index opened 35 points above its previous close, but before closing it faced selling pressure, yet remained in the green zone. Overall, 20 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 233 shares rose while 31 fell. Banks (+2.2%), Energy (+1.9%), and Materials (+3.1%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Alrajhi (+2.8%), Saudi Aramco (+1.9%), and SNB (+2.5%) were the major contributors to the index rise. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume and value of +30% and +38%, respectively, to reach 441mn shares and SAR 7.2bn in value traded.

U.S. equities ended higher as strength in artificial-intelligence and ‎semiconductor stocks supported technology shares, while easing ‎oil prices improved risk appetite ahead of the Federal Reserve’s ‎policy decision. Investors also assessed corporate earnings and ‎awaited results from major technology companies to gauge ‎whether continued AI investment could translate into stronger ‎returns. The S&P 500 gained 0.6%, the Dow Jones Industrial ‎Average advanced 0.03%, and the NASDAQ rose 1.2%. ‎

European equities ended mixed but with a positive bias as ‎stronger corporate earnings and lower oil prices offset concerns ‎following HSBC’s revenue miss. Semiconductor-related stocks ‎outperformed, while investors positioned ahead of the European ‎Central Bank’s policy decision and assessed the implications of ‎energy costs for inflation. The FTSE 100 declined 0.8%, while the ‎DAX gained 0.7%, the CAC 40 advanced 0.5%, and the EURO ‎STOXX 600 rose 0.5%. ‎

Asian markets are trading mixed as strong demand for artificial-‎intelligence infrastructure and upbeat semiconductor earnings ‎support South Korean and Japanese shares, while Chinese ‎equities remain more subdued. SK Hynix’s record quarterly ‎operating profit and gains in Samsung Electronics are lifting ‎technology sentiment, although investors remain cautious ahead ‎of the Federal Reserve’s policy decision.
