Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) experienced one of the largest single-day drops this year, declining by ‏-‏1.84%. The index fell from 11,986.60 to close at 11,776.40. TASI started the session negatively, opening with a 36-point drop, then gradually declined until the end of the session. Overall, all the 21 sectors closed in the red zone, while 212 shares fell and ‎‎18 rose. Banks (-1.7%), Materials (-2.1%), and Utilities (-‎‎4.3%) sectors contributed the most to the index fall. Stockwise, ACWA Power (-5.1%), Al Rajhi Bank (-1.4%), and Aramco (-0.7%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed a decline in volume and value of -16% and ‎‎-14%, respectively, to reach 311mn shares and SAR6.1bn in value traded.

 

 

 

Market Wrap International:

 Stocks climbed on Wednesday following a turbulent trading session, with investors evaluating the impact of new U.S. inflation data on Federal Reserve policy. Tech stocks were at the forefront of a bounce back from earlier steep declines. The Dow Jones Industrial Average increased by 0.3%, the S&P 500 edged up by 1.1%, and the Nasdaq Composite advanced by 2.2%.

European stocks opened mixed on Wednesday. After the release of U.S. inflation data, investors are evaluating its impact on Federal Reserve interest rate policy. The CAC 40 and FTSE 100 each fell by -0.1%, while the DAX increased by 0.4%.

 

Asian stocks fell on Wednesday amid worries about economic growth, as investors digested the recently released U.S. inflation data and anticipated the potential impacts of an upcoming presidential debate. Major Asian indices all posted declines: the KOSPI fell by -0.4%, the Nikkei 225 slipped by -1.5%, and the Hang Seng decreased by -0.7%.
