Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on Thursday, gaining 20 points (+0.2%) to close at 10,611 level. TASI opened 8 points lower than the previous closing level, then fluctuated throughout the session before closing in the green zone. In general, 16 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and ‎‎116 shares rose while 115 fell. Real Estate (+1.6%), Health care equipment and services (+1.6%), and Materials (+0.3%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Sulaiman Al Habib (+2.8%), Maaden (+1.9%), and Elm Co. ‎‎(+3.7%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume and value of 15% and 3%, respectively, to reach 266mn shares and SAR6.4bn in value traded.

 

Market Wrap International:

U.S. stocks ended lower on Friday as investors weighed rising Middle East tensions and fresh signals on monetary policy. President Trump delayed a decision on potential military action against Iran, while a Fed governor suggested rate cuts could come as early as July. The S&P 500 slipped by -0.2%, with losses led by Communication Services (-1.83%), Materials (-0.65%), and Health Care sector (-0.46%). The Nasdaq dropped by -0.5%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased by 0.1%.

European stocks closed higher, supported by easing fears of U.S. involvement in the Middle East conflict, which helped calm investor nerves. The CAC 40 experienced an increase of 0.5%, the DAX rose by 1.3%, the Euro STOXX 600 advanced by 0.1%, whereas the FTSE 100 dropped by -0.2%.

Asia-Pacific markets were mixed as investors digested China’s move to hold benchmark rates steady while keeping a close watch on the escalating Israel-Iran conflict. Caution prevailed after the White House signaled it may decide within two weeks whether to back Israeli military action against Tehran. The Nikkei 225 and the SHCOMP saw declines of -0.2% and -0.1%, respectively, while the KOSPI and the Hang Seng index experienced upticks of 1.5% and 1.3%, respectively.
