Tadawul Review:  

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell on Tuesday, dropping by -138 points (-1.3%) to close at 10,843. TASI started the session on a positive note, opening 10 points higher than the previous close, but gradually declined until the end of the session. Overall, all 21 sectors closed in the red zone, while 231 shares fell and 25 rose. Banks (-1.4%), Materials (-1.8%), and Real Estate (-1.8%) sectors contributed the most to the index fall. Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (-1.0%), Saudi National Bank (-‎‎2.1%), and Maaden (-2.7%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume and value of 45% and 13%, respectively, to reach 516mn shares and SAR4.9bn in value traded.

 

 

Market Wrap International:

The S&P 500 edged to another record close on Tuesday as traders balanced a wave of earnings reports with fresh trade headlines. Gains were led by Health Care (+1.90%), Real Estate (+1.79%), and Utilities (+1.29%). The S&P 500 climbed by 0.1% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained by 0.4%, while the NASDAQ dropped by -0.4%.

European stocks ended mostly lower, with German shares seeing sharp losses on weak earnings and fading U.S.-EU trade deal hopes, while the FTSE 100 outperformed on gains in energy. The CAC 40 fell by -0.7%, the Euro STOXX 600 dropped by -0.4%, and the DAX dipped by -1.1%, while the FTSE 100 saw an increase of 0.1%.

Asian markets were mixed on Tuesday, tracking Wall Street’s recent highs as investors awaited major U.S. earnings reports. The SHCOMP gained by 0.6% and the Hang Seng increased by 0.5%, whereas the NIKKEI 225 experienced a decline of -0.1% and the KOSPI posting a decrease of -1.3%.
