The trading session began on a positive note with a 31-point increase at the opening, but gradually declined until midday, before recovering and rising until the end of the session. In general, 18 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 143 shares rose while 80 fell. Banks (+0.2%), Food and beverages (+1.1%), and Retailing (+2.1%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (+0.3%), Saudi National Bank (+0.7%), and Elm Co. (+1.8%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed a decrease in volume by -40% to reach 369mn shares, while the value increased by 25% to reach SAR7.2bn in value traded.
