Although it gradually rose during the session, at auction close, the index began to decline until the last point, continuing until the end. Overall, 15 out of 21 sectors closed in the red zone, while 154 shares fell and 69 rose. Banks (-0.7%), Materials (-0.5%), and Food and beverages (-0.8%) sectors contributed the most to the index fall. Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (-0.6%), Sulaiman Al Habib (-1.9%), and Maaden (-2.0%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume and value of 5% and 20%, respectively, to reach 252mn shares and SAR6.1bn in value traded.
