Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell on Sunday, losing -25 points (-0.2%) to close at the 11,883 level. The session opened 11 points higher than the previous closing level, before it encountered an increased selling pressure and started to fluctuate and closed below the previous session. In general, 15 out of 21 sectors closed in the red zone, and 151 shares fell while 72 rose. Utilities (-1.5%), Banks (-0.1%), and Telecommunication (-0.3%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, ACWA Power (-1.8%), Saudi National Bank (-0.7%), Elm and (-1.8%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed a noticeable decrease in volume and value by -52 % and by -36% respectively, to reach 298Mn shares and SAR4.49bn in value traded.

 

 

 

Market Wrap International: 

As a weekly average, the major U.S. indices saw gains, with the Dow Jones up 1.67%, the S&P 500 rising 1.35%, and the NASDAQ increasing 1.13%. This trend indicates positive market sentiment over the past two weeks. Additionally, Initial Jobless Claims for the week ending October 24, 2024.

As a weekly average, European indices displayed varied performance, with the DAX leading at 1.73%. The FTSE 100 rose by 0.93%, while the EURO STOXX 600 increased by ‎‎0.64%. In contrast, the CAC had a minimal gain of just 0.10%, reflecting mixed sentiment across the region over the past two weeks.

As a weekly average, Asian indices showed a mixed picture, with the KOSPI rising slightly by 0.58% and the Nikkei 225 barely up at 0.03%. However, the SHCOMP fell by 2.92%, the Hang Seng dropped significantly by 4.28%, and the TOPIX declined by 0.50%, indicating overall challenges in the region over the past two weeks.
