Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on Monday, gaining 83 points (+0.7%) to close at 11,778. The index opened 17 points higher than the previous closing level, and despite fluctuations in the first hour of trading, it was able to maintain positive momentum until the end of the session. In general, 15 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 134 shares rose while 106 fell. Banks (+1.3%), Materials (+0.9%), and Telecommunications (+1.2%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (+1.4%), Aramco (+0.6%), and Saudi Awwal (+2.7%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume and value of 23% and 61%, respectively, to reach 175mn shares and SAR4.2bn in value traded.

 

 

 

Market Wrap International:

Stocks surged Monday as investors welcomed reports suggesting the Trump administration may scale back its planned tariffs, easing trade war concerns. Consumer discretionary led gains, jumping 4.07%, followed by communication services and industrials, up 2.11% and 1.87%, respectively. The S&P 500 rose by 1.8%, the Nasdaq increased by 2.3%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced by 1.4%.

 

European markets edged lower on Monday as initial optimism over U.S. tariff policies waned, with investors seeking further clarity on trade developments. The CAC 40 fell by -0.3%, the Euro STOXX 600 declined by -0.1%, the FTSE 100 dropped by -0.1%, and the DAX slipped by -0.2%.

 

 

Asian stocks traded in a narrow range on Monday as investors assessed the potential for softer U.S. tariffs, while Japanese markets slipped on weak PMI data. The Hang Seng rose by 0.9%, and the SHCOMP increased by 0.2%. While the Nikkei 225 decreased by -0.2%, and the KOSPI by -0.4%.
