Market Wrap International:

U.S. stocks pulled back on Tuesday, snapping their recent rally as investors grew cautious amid fresh warnings that optimism over easing inflation and trade tensions might be premature. Concerns over the U.S. fiscal outlook also weighed on sentiment, with Congress in the spotlight as it debated a major tax cut bill. Major indexes drifted lower, while longer-term Treasury yields edged up. Sector-wise, Energy led the declines, down 0.99%, followed by Technology Hardware & Equipment (-0.83%) and Communication Services (-0.76%). The Nasdaq declined by -0.4%, the S&P 500 fell by -0.4%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped by -0.3%.

European stocks, including the FTSE 100, bounced back on Tuesday, clawing back some of the previous session’s losses. The rebound came as traders reacted positively to a “Brexit reset” agreement between the UK government and the EU, which helped lift market sentiment across the region. The Euro STOXX 600 increased by 0.7%, the DAX rose by 0.4%, the FTSE 100 went up by 0.9%, and the CAC 40 gained by 0.7%.

Asian stocks closed mostly higher, supported by expected interest rate cuts from China. Investor sentiment was also shaped by ongoing trade discussions, particularly between the U.S. and Japan, following the 90-day pause in U.S.-China tariff escalation. The SHCOMP advanced by 0.4%, the Hang Seng increased by 1.5%, and the Nikkei 225 advanced by 0.1%, while the KOSPI dropped by -0.1%.
