Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell on Thursday, dropping 153 points (-1.3%) to close at 11,189. The index opened 21 points below its previous close, then gradually declined until the end of the session. Overall, ‎‎20 out of 21 sectors closed in the red zone, while 236 shares fell and 28 rose. Materials (-3.0%), Banks (-0.9%), and Real Estate (-2.2%) sectors contributed the most to the index fall. Stockwise, Maaden (-5.4%), Saudi National Bank (-2.7%), and ACWA Power (-1.7%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume and value of 9% and 7%, respectively, to reach 239mn shares and SAR5.5bn in value traded.

 

 

 

Market Wrap International:

U.S. equities ended higher as broad sector participation supported risk assets, led by cyclical and technology shares following strong corporate news and momentum from chipmakers. The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 2.5%, the S&P 500 rose 2.0%, and the Nasdaq advanced 2.2%, with investor confidence buoyed by record highs in blue-chip benchmarks and optimism about future growth prospects.

European equities ended higher, with sentiment aided by gains in cyclicals and consumer stocks that helped offset pockets of tech sector weakness. The DAX increased 0.9%, the FTSE 100 gained ‎‎0.6%, the CAC 0.4% and the EURO STOXX 600 rose 0.9%, reflecting broad-based support across major markets.

 

Asian markets are trading mixed, with weakness in mainland and regional tech-linked stocks and selective strength elsewhere. South Korea’s KOSPI declined 1.4%, China’s SHCOMP slipped ‎‎0.3% and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng fell 1.2% amid a regional tech sell-off, while Japan’s Nikkei 225 rose 0.8% as investors positioned ahead of local catalysts.
