Tadawul Review: 

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on Thursday, gaining 51 points (+0.4%) to close at 11,641. The session began on a strong note with an initial 25-point gain, as the index opened higher than its previous close. Despite some volatility throughout the day, with fluctuating movements, the index managed to maintain upward momentum and closed in the green zone. In general, 17 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 134 shares rose while 85 fell. Banks (+0.4%), Materials (+0.8%), and Food and beverages (+1.5%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, ACWA Power (+1.3%), Saudi National Bank (+1.4%), and Almarai (+3.1%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed a decrease in volume and value of -42% and -0.1%, respectively, to reach 377mn shares and SAR6.0bn in value traded.

 

 

Market Wrap International:  

During a brief trading day on Friday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 reached record highs, capping an impressive month for stocks. The Nasdaq Composite gained by 0.8%, the S&P 500 increased by 0.6%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 0.4%.

After a volatile morning session, European stocks ended Friday afternoon higher as investors evaluated the most recent inflation statistics for the euro zone. The FTSE 100 edged up by 0.1%, the DAX gained by 1%, the CAC 40 rose by 0.8%, and the Euro STOXX 600 increased by 0.6%.

Friday saw a decline in the majority of Asian stocks as risk appetite was dampened by the Russia-Ukraine war's intensification, while Japan's Nikkei sank as the yen rose on solid inflation figures. The NIKKEI 225 and KOSPI fell by -0.4% and -1.9%, respectively. In contrast, the SHCOMP experienced a gain of 0.9% and the Hang Seng increased by 0.3%.
