Market Wrap International:

Global markets ended last week mixed as shifting monetary expectations and divergent regional data shaped sentiment. In the U.S., equities advanced modestly after strong bank earnings and softer inflation data bolstered hopes of a more dovish Federal Reserve, though lingering credit risks in regional lenders and cautious corporate guidance capped gains.

European markets retreated as renewed inflation pressures and weakness in bank shares weighed on sentiment, with investors tempering expectations for early policy easing amid signs of persistent price growth and fragile fiscal conditions.

In Asia, stocks broadly declined, led by sharp losses in China and Hong Kong after softer GDP data and continued property sector stress dampened confidence, while Japan outperformed earlier in the week on optimism over fiscal support before profit taking set in.
