Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell for the fifth consecutive day on Wednesday, dropping 142 points (-‎‎1.2%) to close at 11,257. The index opened 40 points below its previous close. During the first half hour, it declined by around 83 points before recovering some losses, but before mid-session, it started to gradually decrease again and closed at its lowest point of the day. Overall, 21 out of 21 sectors closed in the red zone, while 224 shares fell and 34 rose. Banks (-1.1%), Materials (-1.4%), and Utilities (-2.6%) sectors contributed the most to the index fall. Stockwise, Aramco (-0.6%), Al Rajhi Bank (-0.6%), and ACWA Power (-2.0%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed a decrease in volume and value of -‎‎10% and -9%, respectively, to reach 262mn shares and SAR4.9bn in value traded.

 

 

 

 

Market Wrap International:

U.S. equities advanced as investors weighed steady economic data and awaited upcoming corporate results, with optimism supported by resilient consumer trends and a stable services-sector reading that eased growth worries while keeping inflation risks in focus. The S&P 500 rose 0.4%, the Dow Jones 0.5%, and the Nasdaq 0.6%.

European markets followed Wall Street higher amid upbeat sentiment and solid earnings, though gains were limited by lingering valuation concerns and uncertainty over future ECB policy moves. The FTSE 100 gained 0.6%, the DAX 0.4%, the CAC 0.1%, and the EURO STOXX 600 0.2%.

In Asia, trading was mixed as renewed pressure on regional currencies and weaker growth sentiment weighed on equities. The Shanghai Composite rose 0.2%, but the Kospi dropped -2.8% and Japan’s Nikkei 225 fell -2.5%, while the Hang Seng edged down -0.1%.
