Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell on Wednesday, ‎slipping 55 points (-0.5%) to close at 10,541. The index ‎opened slightly above its previous close, then gradually ‎decreased through the session until the close. In ‎general, 17 out of 21 sectors closed in the red zone, ‎while 207 shares fell and 51 rose. Banks (-0.5%), ‎Materials (-0.6%), and Real Estate (-1.5%) sectors ‎contributed the most to the index fall. Stockwise, Al ‎Rajhi Bank (-0.9%), ACWA Power (-1.0%), and Almarai ‎‎(-1.5%) were the major contributors. The trading ‎activity witnessed a decrease in volume and value of -‎‎24% and -20%, respectively, to reach 124mn shares and ‎SAR2.7bn in value traded.

Market Wrap International: U.S. equities closed higher as a modest pullback in Treasury yields and steady rate-cut expectations into 2026 supported risk appetite, with positioning into year-end keeping dips well bid. Megacap tech and communication services led, while defensives lagged as investors leaned back into growth. The S&P 500 +0.3%, Dow Jones Industrial Average +0.6%, and NASDAQ Composite +0.2%.

European equities finished mixed in thin holiday trade as firmer commodity-linked names helped offset cautious sentiment around the growth outlook and still-tight financial conditions. UK shares lagged amid softness in defensives, while the core euro area held steady with banks and industrials largely rangebound. The FTSE 100 –0.2%, while the CAC 40 and EURO STOXX 600 remained stable.

Asian equities are trading with a split tone as China-related optimism and selective bargain-hunting compete with lingering rate and FX cross-currents. Mainland benchmarks are firmer on incremental policy-support hopes, while Hong Kong is edging up alongside China tech; Korea is softer with semis consolidating and Japan is marginally lower as exporters track a slightly firmer yen. The Shanghai Composite +0.5%, Hang Seng +0.2%, KOSPI –0.2%, and Nikkei 225 –0.1%.‎
