Market Wrap International:
U.S. equities ended lower at the latest close as rising oil prices and ongoing Middle East tensions weighed on investor sentiment, prompting caution across technology and cyclical sectors while energy-related shares showed relative resilience as crude prices moved higher. European equities ended weaker as investors assessed the implications of higher energy costs and geopolitical uncertainty for inflation and growth, with cyclical sectors including banks and industrials facing pressure while defensive stocks provided limited support. Asian markets ended higher at the end of the week as regional benchmarks recovered with gains in Japan, Hong Kong, and mainland China, supported by selective buying in financial and technology shares despite continued monitoring of global energy markets and geopolitical developments.
