Tadawul Review: 

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on Wednesday, gaining 41 points (+0.3%) to close at 12,077. The trading session began positively, with an increase of 17 points compared to the previous close. The index surged briefly, then started to gradually decline for half an hour. After that, it rebounded and continued to increase until the end of the session. In general, 18 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 152 shares rose while 71 fell. Banks (+0.5%), Telecommunications (+1.1%), and Health care equipment and services (+0.9%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (+0.6%), Alinma Bank (+1.9%), and Saudi Telecom (+1.3%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed a decrease in volume and value by -28% and -42% respectively, to reach 240mn shares and SAR3.3bn in value traded.

Global markets were closed on Wednesday. Major global indices could start the year on a high note, supported by optimism surrounding easing inflation, central banks potentially pausing rate hikes. U.S. markets might see strong gains in tech and renewable energy stocks as investors position themselves for 2025 growth sectors.
