Market Wrap International:

U.S. equities ended mixed as the Federal Reserve’s quarter-point rate cut was tempered by Chair Powell’s warning that further easing is not assured. Gains in technology and AI shares helped offset broader weakness as investors reassessed the outlook for monetary policy. The S&P 500 ended nearly flat, Dow Jones Industrial fell -0.2%, and Nasdaq Composite rose +0.5%.

European stocks slipped as the Fed’s cautious tone and mixed corporate results weighed on sentiment. Energy and financial names underperformed amid softer oil prices and falling yields, though London outperformed on strength in commodity stocks.
