Tadawul Review: 

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell on Thursday, dropping slightly by 1 point (-0.01%) to close at 12,385. The index opened negatively, down by 14 points from the previous close, and experienced fluctuations throughout the session, ultimately closing in the red zone. Overall, 10 out of 21 sectors closed in the red zone, while 102 shares fell and 125 rose. Banks (-0.1%), Media (-2.4%), and Food and beverages (-0.6%) sectors contributed the most to the index fall. Stockwise, Bank AlBilad (-1.9%), Saudi Research (-3.3%), and Almarai (-1.0%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed a decrease in volume and value of -21% and -11%, respectively, to reach 232mn shares and SAR5.0bn in value traded.

 

 

 

Market Wrap International:

On Friday, Wall Street pulled back slightly from its all-time high as U.S. stock indexes fluctuated amid mixed corporate earnings. The S&P 500 edged down by 0.01%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 0.4%, contrasting with the NASDAQ, which rose 0.4%. Among the weaker sectors in the S&P 500, Consumer Staples declined 1.16%, Health Care fell 1.11%, and Utilities posted a modest 0.51% loss.

In Europe, the main stock index closed lower as investors took a breather after four consecutive sessions of gains. However, the luxury sector outperformed, driven by strong earnings from Hermès. The CAC 40 edged up 0.2%, while the DAX and FTSE 100 both declined 0.4%, and the Euro STOXX 600 slipped 0.2%.

In Asia, stocks showed a mixed but mostly positive response to Wall Street’s near-record rally. Despite former U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent tariff threats, including signing a reciprocal tariffs plan without immediate implementation, market reactions varied. The Hang Seng surged 3.7%, the Shanghai Composite (SHCOMP) edged up 0.4%, and the KOSPI gained 0.3%. Meanwhile, Japan’s Nikkei 225 lagged behind, falling 0.8%.
